Latitude 18

Remember Captain Ron I told you about? Well he owns a little restaurant called Latitude 18 in the Harbor. He has sold it twice and now owns it again for the 3rd time. Years and years ago it started off as a small rest stop where hungry sailors could grab a snack and a beer or a coke. Then he started serving Spaghetti for the first 20 people to sign up, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It took off and is now a neat little place to eat. Randy and I went there for our lunch on our last day on the island and we were the only ones there! I got a delicious grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and cheddar cheese and Randy got a mahi mahi sandwich. The only side they had was baked beans and seriously, they were the best bakes beans I've ever eaten in my life. They were sweet with a salty bite from the pulled pork! ::Mouth waters::

Love this place! Capt Ron invited me, dad, Peggy & Danny when we were there in 2006. It is one of those places that is a little out of the way hidden gem. Back just a few years ago, there was only a very small sign and was hard to find it. It's a place where mostly only locals (boat people) go and you had to be invited there. So we always feel honored that we got invited by Capt Ron. Glad you enjoyed it!
