first tooth showing!

We have known for a few months that the babies are teething. They used to chew on their fists and now they chew on toys and blankets etc. I feel and look for their teeth regularly. Today it was Daddy who discovered Kaleiah's first tooth coming in! And the sweet thing hasn't been giving us a hard time at all! She has been sleeping fine, not very fussy, no drool. Honestly, we thought (and still think) Kaden was teething big time! And I'm sure he still is but there is no sign of a tooth thus far.
Well, here is a pic of the first glimpse of her tooth :)
P.S Today they turned 8 MONTHS!! There will be a blog about that soon :)

Crawling is next!!!

About two weeks ago Kaleiah started army crawling (7 1/2 mo, adjusted age 6 mo). She is so great at it!! It's so fun to watch her see something that she wants and go get it! Well to our surprise last night (5/24) I came out of the kitchen to a whining Kaleiah who was up on her hands and knees, rocking! I literally almost cried and yelled for Randy to come see! It totally caught me off guard. Guess she'll be crawling in a matter of weeks! I am so not ready for crawlers bc A) It's hard for me to accept the fact that they are really growing up so fast and B) I don't know what I am going to do w/ two babies crawling around getting into everything!
But it's going to be fun :)

Memorial Day 09!

We had a wonderful Memorial Day cookout with my family! We have BBQ's all the time in the summer and yesterday kicked off the first one! There was lots of good food and it was fun to see all of the grand kids (cousins) together! Kaden and Kaleiah had a lot of fun!

What's new?

Just a quick update on what's new with Kaden and Kaleiah.
A few weeks ago Kaleiah started to scoot and begin to army crawl. Now she completely army crawls and is very good at it! If we put a toy in front of her and ask her to come get it, she does! It's so cute to watch them play on the floor bc she turns in circles using her elbows and can go get whatever toy she wants! She also lays on her tummy but her arms are stiff, lifting her chest off of the ground. I imagine she'll be crawling very soon! Kaden scoots but hasn't tried army crawling yet :) I do not compare them to eachother, they are really just two babies born at the same time. Just becuase they are twins doens't mean they are the same, developmentally. Plus, girls develop faster anyway.
They are also sitting up, as previously posted! It is so cute, they can sit facing eachother now and they are ALWAYS smiling at each other. I love seeing the bond between them already.
Kaleiah talks and sings...alot! She says "dadaadad" and "babababa." Kaden says "Wowowow" and it is hilarious! Kaleiah has a dainty little voice and usually wakes up singing to her bear or paci. Kaden smiles and giggles ALL day! He has this certain little noise he makes when he is excited (which is most of the time). They love playing in their excersaucers or just on the floor.
They have started to get more attached to me, for example, when I leave the room for any reason they sometimes start to cry. At this age (7 1/2 mo, adjusted age 6 mo) they are able to picture me and miss me when I go out of their sight.
They also have started to find comfort in a little blanky bear thing, Kaleiah sleeps with hers every night. She loves it!
Kaleiah has reached for me when being held by someone else and I must say, it warmed my heart! When I go to ge them out of their exersaucers I hold my arms out and they try and reach theirs up!
They have so much personality and are just so much fun!! I smile and laugh all day bc of them. I am truly blessed to be able to stay home with them everyday and raise them!
I hope to start adding some short videos to the blog!

Sitting up!

We always practice with the babies on their balance and spend time each day helping them learn to sit up. They are still learning so sometimes they fall but today Kaleiah sat up nice and straight and Kaden is sitting up much better too!
Right now they are 7 1/2 mo but their adjusted age is 6 months so like most 6 months old, they are mastering sitting up! It's so exciting! Each time they do something new it is SO EXCITING!!! Check out how cute they are!!

Fun Family Friday

On Friday we went ot the Irvine Specturm-we love that place! We had fun just eating lunch in the GORGEOUS summer-like weather and getting some frozen yogurt. We also browsed Target and walked all around the shops. The babies were awake for all of it and had fun seeing the new sights and feeling the beautiful weather!

high chairs and booster seats

Kaden and Kaleiah just got high chairs! Grampa Nick and Gramma Brenda picked them out and bought them for the babies. It is MUCH easier now trying to feed them instead of setting them in their bumbos on the table! Even though I didn't pick them out, I LOVE THEM! They are sooooo cute!

Grampa Bill and Nana Cheryl bought the babies booster seats! They are going to be great for when we eat in resteraunts and I found that the babies like to sit in them outside with me on our patio :) This will probably be a daily event :)

My first Mother's Day!!!

Being a Mother is the hardest job I have ever had, it is one that I will have everyday for the rest of my life. It is also the most rewarding thing I have ever done and I thank the Lord that I get to wake up to these faces ever day. I have truly been blessed!

My two peas in a pod!

Mother's Day part one consisted of going to dinner w/ the Craft's at Lonestar on Sat night!
Nana and grampa Bill bought K&K fun little booster seats so they could join us at the table. We got to see Grandma Carolyn which is always nice since she doesn't come down often. Randy and I had yummy steaks and it was overall a great time!!
Sunday morning my parents and sisters came over to my house where my Dad made pancakes w/ strawberries and whipped cream! It was so special that they all came to me since they new Randy was at work and the babies were napping so I couldn't leave. Then when Randy got home we spent some time in Laguna beach. It was a great first Mother's Day!

Dedication

Last Sunday we attended the child dedication at church with Kaden and Kaleiah.
It was a celebration that as parents we are vowing to raise our children in a Godly home and to teach them about the love and values of Christ. Our family was there to show their support which was awesome!

Eating solids

This blog is long over due. I have been waiting to blog about it until I could post the videos but I'll have to add those another time.
About two weeks ago we started the babies on rice cereal. After that we slowly introduced new foods one at a time.
They now eat pears, apples, bananas, carrots, sweet potatoes, sweet peas and green beans! They love all of it. There isn't any foods so far that they won't eat. They are pigs, by the way. The solids are a supplement to nursing but not taking the place of it. Anyways, enjoy the pics!

Wasn't too sure about banana's at first

First bite of rice cereal

Loves sweet potatoes!!
