PB&J

Another new first...
The other day for lunch I decided to make Kaden and Kaleiah peanut butter and jelly for lunch!
I even cut the crust off because that's the way I like it :)
It took some convincing but Kaleiah finally tried it and really liked it! Kaden only touched it but would NOT try it. He wanted nothing to do with it! He is going through a phase where he is ultra picky and only likes a few things. It's been sorta difficult because obviously we want him to get proper nutrition but after you try making 5 different things every meal in hopes he'll eat it, finally you give up and say "at least he is eating!!" He loves yogurt, scrambled eggs and nutrigrain bars at the moment.
Anyways, here are some pics of PB&J for the first time!

a new first today :)

We went for our usual walk along the beach on the gorgeous trail this afternoon. Right next to the pier there is a swing set and they love it. They swung and played in the sand...which can and did get very messy. Kaden, being such a boy, loves throwing it. He loves throwing it however he can and especially, up in the air so it lands on his head. Today he even started chucking it at his sister. They were covered and I tried to brush it off as much as I could in between laughing.

We got home and since I worked up such a sweat I decided I was going to take a super quick shower before I put them down for naps. I turned it on and went to grab my robe and instantly heard the sound of shampoo bottles on the shower floor. Mind you, they were not in there when I left, they were playing in their room. That is how fast they are...little sneaks!

I came running in and found them fully clothed sitting under the running water, laughing. Luckily, the temp was barely lukewarm so that was a relief. It was so hysterical to see them in there, soaked and fully clothed. Obviously it made quite the photo op!

It made a pretty cute and funny memory to tell them later and it was a new first for me! :) Never a dull moment around here...never!

cold season

The twins have been sick off an now now for 4 weeks! First it was Kaden for a week, just as he got better Kaleiah got something different and she was sick for a week. She then passed that to Kaden who got it much worse. Right as he got well again, she got it back, thankfully not as bad as he had it. Can I just say having sick babies adds so much more work to the day? It also makes for many sleepless nights. I am pretty tired from a month of two sick babies. I am thankful for 2 things though: 1)That Randy and I have been able to stay healthy and therefor give 100% to taking care of our sick-lings. 2) It could be SO MUCH WORSE. I am thankful it isn't anything that requires lots of meds or even the ER. We've only had to take Kaden to the Dr. once. He is on antibiotics and I think we'll start KH on them.
This nagging cold seems to be hanging around and bouncing back and forth between them. My poor baby girl can't breath AT ALL through her nose and we all know how annoying that is. She hasn't gotten a good nights sleep in DAYS (which obviously means neither have we).
Did you know "healthy" babies/children still get sick 10 times a year? I was surprised by that fact. Essentially they could be sick 10 out of 12 months! I am glad that has not been the case. But having sick babies is hard. I hate seeing them uncomfortable and I get stressed when they won't eat and aren't getting good sleep. I am praying they both get back to 100% very soon.
K, I just needed to vent. I feel better now :)

Thank you Target...

...for giving us something to do this week! We have gone there twice this week just to get out of the house since we have had to spend so much time being cooped up inside due to the crazy rain/storms.
Lucky for me it was my birthday this week and I had a few gift cards to spend!! So, a little shopping, a little family time, it was perfect!
I have to say, now that they babies are full blown walking, it has really made things easier! It is so fun to get to a place and just let them down and let them walk around and explore their world in a brand new way. Both days at Target, they walked the whole time. They love it! The cutest is when they hold my hand and we walk around together :) I love this stage and since they crawled for so long, I was totally ready for it to come! They have more freedom when we go places now (which soon will be a bad thing I know!) since they don't have to be confined in a stroller or cart (the whole time anyway). Obviously when they were only crawling I'd never fathom about letting them crawl all over the nasty, germ ridden floors while I browsed. Sure, when they are walking around they manage to touch everything but I'm sure the clothing racks have a few less germs than the disgusting floors that thousands of people walk on every week. The thought of it makes me cringe! And yes, as soon as we are done I wipe of off their hands with antibacterial wipes :)
But like I said, it's so much fun bc I can leisurely browse the bathing suits while they walk from rack to rack and giggle at themselves in the mirror. They are so easily entertained and they always love a new environment and change of scenery.
Today was wonderful, we all ate lunch at In-N-Out and then went to Target for a few hours, Randy and I got some Starbucks lattes (yet another birthday gift card) and sipped them on the drive home as they babies napped. It was a bit scary at some points bc it was raining incredibly hard. But alas we got home safe an sound. I love these spontaneous days and the things we come up with to go to bc the weather is giving us cabin fever!
Maybe next year for my birthday I'll buy myself more than I did the twins this year. Probably not :) It's just so dang fun to spoil them when I can! :)

Kaleiah, in the shoe department :) She got some adorable pink Ugg's (not brand name but darling none the less)!

Kaden, nearly running around :)

Target Day #2, the peas just browsing away :)

RAIN

I am going stir crazy by having to keep the babies inside all week due to the multiple storms that have been hitting us. Staying indoors day after day is getting really old! Of course it would rain the one week my husband takes vacation...no Disneyland, no fun things outside, On the plus side, all the quality time og just us 4 has been a blessing!

Memories Monday

This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE pictures of the twins! They were 10 mo old, just woke up from a nap and were eating snacks. I LOVE their grins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

feet and hand prints

I LOVE baby hands and I love baby feet even more. I had always wanted to get imprints of Kaden and Kaleiah's feet/hands. We tried when they were about 6 mo old and it was a disaster! I saw an ad for getting it done professionally at this one baby boutique and immediately set up an appt. So we decided to get these done a few months ago for their 1st birthday! I love these so much, they are so priceless.

Memories Monday

I'm a few days late on this post. The twins haven't been feeling well so I have been extra busy this week.
Anyway...here is my memory this week...OUR HONEYMOON! Goodness, I wish I could go back to that time right now! Blissful newlyweds in a Hawaiian paradise. Ahhhh...life was good! And so simple back then :)
We went to the Big Island of Hawaii for one main reason...my dream was always to swim with a dolphin and a resort on that island had it! That was one of the best moments of my life! Unfortunately I don't have a scanned picture of it to post :(
The previous year in which we got engaged (in Kauai) we had vacationed on Maui, Kauai and Oahu. So we wanted to see a new island (or at least I did. Randy had been there once before).
We spent our time relaxin in the hammock, laying out in the sun (I always say the sun is different there. I get the most beautiful bronze color when normally I don't tan that well) and the best part was floating in the salt water lagoon! I have never been more relaxed in my life then when doing that! And it was so cool to see a big sea turtle swim past you!
Our honeymoon was perfect. Oh how I love Hawaii!

we love bath time!

My babies love bath time. They actually ask for it at least once a day. We have to spell it out when we are talking about it so they won't get too excited before it's time! :) Here are some ADORABLE, CLASSIC, bath time pics that will for sure be in their wedding montage :)

15 months!! (12/30/09)

Kaden William @ 15 mo:
19.12 lbs
31 1/4 in tall

I have to call back and ask for your percentiles bc I forgot to write them down at the check up this week!

Kaden, my sweet little man...
You know just how to tug at my heart strings, you are so sweet I could just hold and kiss you all day!
You have changed so much in the past month. You are walking so much more! You get so proud when we make a big deal about it and encouragement you! You absolutely love pushing things around weather it be an empty diaper box, a laundry basket or your new truck. You also love anything with wheels and if you can get to the wheel to make it spin you are one happy boy!

Speaking of happy boy, that has not changed! You have always been so happy, so easy going and just so good. Everyone loves you and even strangers comment on your temperament. Lately though, you have started to do this fake cry thing and it's so funny. If I wasn't watching you when you did it it might almost sound legit! I'm not quite sure why you do it but I think it's to get some extra attention (as if you don't get enough all day! ) :) :)

You have started to realize your strength. You have always been strong and people have always commented it but now you are starting to notice :) Sometimes you push your sister out of the way and make her fall. Sometimes I think you know what you are doing when you basically get on top of her and squish her to get to the toy she has. You aren't very good at sharing yet :) You don't mean to hurt her or make her cry and I know this is just the beginning of it all! You have to have what she has even if it means forcefully taking it from her! You have started giving Daddy these long, hard hugs and it melts his heart! You love to crawl on him and rough house! You love to be chased too :)
You are talking much more now too! Here are the words you can say:
Milk
Juice
Car
Snack
Mamma
Dadda
Kitty (meow)
Doggie (woof woof)
Bath
Ball
Bye Bye
Eye
Mouth
Teeth
Banana
Baby
Down
Cheese
Cracker
Poo Poo :)
More
Choo Choo (Train)
Book
Pappa (Grandpa)
Owl
Car
Mou Mou (Mickey Mouse)
Thank you
No No
Moon
Cheese (whenever you see a camera or cell phone)

If you ever see a flower you make a sniffing sound and scrunch your nose!
You know more words than you actually know how to say, too.

You still won't sleep on your own so you sleep in Daddy's arms every night! It all started when you and your sister got sick and wanted/needed extra comfort. You were sick for a week and you both slept with us because you would not let us put you down all day or night. Trust me, we tried! And now, months later you, my dear, are still with us! We have tried a few times to get you used to sleeping back in your crib you you will not have it. You just love the comfort and honestly, what baby wouldn't? People have their opinions about it but to each his own. We love you and love having you next to us. You will not always do this (trust me on this :) ) so for now, no harm no foul :).
You love other babies and kids, especially your Cousin Corbin. He makes you laugh! You love your toy cars, you got a bunch for Christmas! You drive them around and make "vroom" sounds like a little boy! Again, anything you can push around you love!
You have 8 teeth now. You eat just table food (except you get oatmeal for breakfast). You love any kind of noodles or rice or yogurt. You like peaches and pears and bananas but not strawberries or apples. You can definitely be a picky eater at times.
You still don't have much hair! I think you are going to have tons of thick hair (like me) when it does come in. I didn't have any hair until I was about one as well. It's a light peachy blond right now and your eyes are light greenish gray with gold in the middle. Almost exactly like mine. You are def. my mini but I do see your Daddy in you as well!
You are very cuddly and you are always sticking your hand up sleeves (our down my shirt) and twisting the material around your hand. It's your comfort. Sister has her blanky but your thing is doing that. You do it to us, to Gramma, to pretty much anyone holding you. Precious.

You are so sweet, funny, smart and playful and I love the little boy you are becoming. You will always be my Mamma's boy and would do anything for you!! I love you my little Prince!

Kaleiah Hope @ 15 mo:
18.3 lbs
31 in tall

My precious baby girl...you are such a delight!
I just look at you and you make me smile. You are so stinkin smart, it blows people away! You are comparable to an 18 month old or older with how much you talk and how much you know! You can say something after just hearing it one time. Some words you say perfectly like "nice." You communicate and understand us so well that it has made things so much easier! Last month you started telling us when you go poo poo. Most 2 years don't even do that! When you are holding something in both hands you say "two." You really understand so much, it's unbelievable. Here is the list of words that you know and can say (most you have been saying for 1-2 months):
Daddy
Kitty, meow
Doggie, woof
Choo choo (train)
Cookie
Cracker
Milk
More
baby
ball
cheese
snack
shoe
bear (her comfort item)
paci
owl
banana
down
eye
hair
ear
mouth
teeth
tongue (and you know where all of those are on you and on others)
car
book
read
flower
nice
ice
spoon
Buddy
Cup
Kaden (in your own words)
Mou Mou (Mickey mouse)
Please
Thank you
No No
Cheese (whenever you see a camera or cell phone)!
The latest word I taught you is Ciao!
You can repeat things after hearing it like green or blue and if I say one you know to say two next! If you ever see a flower, weather it's real or is in a book or even when you saw it on our head board, you make a sniffing sound and scrunch your nose!

You love to read and you will bring a book over and say "read?" Gramma told me you said that I didn't beleive it because I didn't understand how you would understand that concept but I guess since we are always reading to you and asking you if you wan to read, you picked it up! So.Smart.

You just have the silliest, spunkiest personality. You constantly keep us laughing and impressed. You are sweeter than sugar but are definitely learning how to throw tantrums. You and your brother have always been so good in public and we've always gotten compliments on that but the other day you threw such a fit the entire time we were at Ruby's! We got you two all dressed and packed up after lunch/before naps (which is a major task in its self...it's quite a production just to go out) and headed to lunch bc we had a gift card. You were perfectly fine the entire way there but when we sat down and started to look at the menu, you flipped a switch! You would all over the place, pouring the salt out, grabbing the menus and throwing them, flailing yourself and screaming when we even touched you and Daddy had to walk around the place with you in order to keep you from screaming! We immediately asked for our order to go and had to eat in the car! I have never seen you so ornery in my life. It sure gave us a taste of what is to come. So wonderful :) And just think, I get to deal with it twice as much bc there is two of you :) We'll see if I even get to leave the house once that stage hits :)
But honestly you are such a happy, sweet little thing and a complete joy for me. You listen well and never really give me much trouble.

You walk so much more now too and I know it won't be long until you are running around. Today (1/09/10) at while we were out at Macy's you walked the most you have ever walked. EVER! We just let you down and you walked all over the store on and off for an hour. You only fell maybe 3 times. We were so impressed!
You are a grazer and are always eating. You love your food (most of the time) so it's a wonder that you are such a peanut. But then again you come from a thin Mamma and also have that petite Asian girl gene in you :) You have 8 teeth including TWO MOLARS already!! They are on the top left and right. I was shocked to see them! Your hair is really coming in. It's a lovely light brown color but in the sun you can see the copper. Gorgeous. Your eyes are a delicious, rich chocolate brown and you have thick, jet black eyelashes. They look just like Daddy's, even the shape (which I sooo love). You are my little exotic princess. Can't wait to see how tan you get this summer in the Caribbean! :)

I just can't believe that you two are already 15 months. It has flown by so fast that I feel like you were just born and then I blinked and here we are. I hope at some point it slows down!
I cherish everyday that I get to be home with you and raise you! I am so blessed to be a stay at home Mommy. You two are the light and love of my life and I couldn't be happier!
Here's to month 15!!
