K&K turn 4!!!!!!

On September 30, 2012 you turned 4!
I can't believe it. It's not fair how fast time goes. Where do the years go?
This year you picked your own themes, how cute is that!?!?
Kaden, you love everything BOY. Cars, guns, superheros. You picked a Transformer theme (Daddy was so excited about that)!
Kaleiah, you are the epitome of a girl. You love pink, kitties, everything girly. You picked La-la-loopsey (modern rag doll) theme. I loved it!

We didn't throw you a party when you turned 3 because we did the whole Disneyland stay thing. I was excited to throw you a party this year! I make as much as I can myself, by hand, being creative and putting my own special touches on things. Sure, I could buy everything from the store or online perfect little party packages but when you're throwing a party for TWO, that can get expensive AND I want you to look back and know how much love mommy put into your parties, staying up all night gluing and baking. It wasn't picture perfect by any means but it was all made and put together with lots of love!
I hand picked fabric and cut out triangles to make bunting decor. I stayed up all night melting chocolate and hand dipping marshmallows. Daddy and I hand made your cake stands. We printed and cut out pictures of your theme to hang. Aunt Molly baked all day making your birthday cakes and cupcakes. So much love into the details and themes you picked.

We invited family and a few close friends. We threw it at Gramma and Grandpa's and had a little bounce house. It was super casual and lots of fun. I can't believe you are 4 (4 1/2 today as I'm writing this). It makes me so sad how fast time goes, how fast these first little years flew by. But they are simply amazing, I am obsessed with being your mommy and living life to the fullest with you. Nothing makes me happier than watching you grow up. And I'm tearing up just thinking about it. I love you sweethearts!

Here are a few pics I took to document you turning 4 (I take birthday photos every year) :)

Halloween 2012

That's right, I am JUST NOW blogging about Halloween! Between only having one computer and just being busy, my blogging has fallen to the wayside. But it's always on my mind, because after all, this is the twins' baby book! I have to keep it updated, even if it takes me 6 months at a time. The twins are napping and I have a big Dr. Pepper in hand so let's see how much I can get updated :)

This Halloween, the twins were 4 years and 1 month. This was hands down the funnest one yet. Last year when they had just turned 3 was fun but this year takes the cake! They picked their own costumes and wouldn't budge. They were so excited to go door to door and were a lot more brave to do so this year. They were way less afraid of scary, spooky stuff. They understood when we told them what was pretend and so they were not scared at all. Until this Halloween, they were (most KW) easily frightened from scary stuff.
This was the first year we took them trick-or-treating in a neighborhood, mostly because the past years I was very protective over what they would see. I didn't want them, at 2 or 3, to see super scary costumes, bloody ones, inappropriate ones. I felt that even at 3 they were too little to go door to door in a neighborhood. But 4 was such a big difference from 3 and we felt that they would be ok. When we saw too scary costumes we would change our direction or distract them, still protecting them from seeing stuff they didn't need to see.
Daddy painted KH's kitty face and it was spectacular. He is so talented. She was too cute for words. Kaden was a fight pilot and he was so handsome I couldn't handle it. They were so PUMPED to go trick-or-treat! Since last Halloween, we moved so we went to a neighborhood near us. But first, as ALWAYS, we stopped by Grandma and Grandpa's first! Only Grandpa and Aunt Molly were there, Grandma was at work and was soooo sad to miss the peas stopping by. After grandpa's we headed to the mall to trick-or-treat and to surprise Grandma! They got candy and stickers from most of the stores and Grandma was SO excited we stopped by!! Then we headed to the neighborhood by us.
They seriously had a blast going up to every house. My heart exploded watching them be so brave, having so much fun and looking like such big kids going up to the door as we watched. Too cute!!
I tell you, being a parent makes life so much more amazing. It's soooo special making memories with your kids, experiencing new things with them and most of all, seeing the pure joy from their innocent little faces as they experience new things. This neighborhood was legit and they made out like complete bandits!!! SO much so that Kaleiah's handle broke on her basket bc it was so heavy :)
After about an hour going door to door, we headed home to check out their loot and takes baths. It was the best Halloween yet, I'm smiling just remembering it.
