petting zoo

Today was a new adventure and a new first in some ways, for the twins! I love doing new things as our little family. I love creating brand new memories in new places. But mostly, I just LOVE family time beacuse no matter what we do it's fun and it's cherished!

Today we went to a local petting zoo tucked away in a city just a few exits up the freeway. I can't beleive I never knew it was there until a few months ago! My hubby has another long weekend this weekend so we decided to do something new and exciting Saturday morning before he had to go to work! This place popped into my head and it did not dissapoint.

While the twins have been to their fare share of petting zoo's, the reason I wanted to go to this one was becuase I had seen that you could hold the bunnies and guinnea pigs and I just knew they would love that...especially Kaleiah!!

So that was our first stop and it was adorable. We were in a giant pen full of fluffy, floppy, chubby bunnies and fast, little, funny guinnea pigs and even fuzzy chickens! You could just reach down and pick up any on you wanted to hold or feed!
They jumped right in and held one on their lap. Kaden is usually a little weary of animals, especially ones he doesn't know, new ones he has never seen, or ones that are aggressive or fast (like goats!) so I wasn't too sure how he would react but he was all for it and was all smiles! I think bc they were calm, cute and cuddly he was OK with them. But the funny thing is he wuld not hold one unless one of us was helping him. Kaleiah on the other hand was obsessed (with one in particular) and could.not.wait to just hold it by herself! It was so cute and in that moment she seemed so big to me. When did my little baby girl turn into a fearless little girl who can stand there by herself and hold a guinnea pig! It was just way too cute.

Aside from the fluffy guys, we fed pigs, sheep, a pony/donkey thing and of course those aggressive, pushy goats! No wonder Kaden doesn't like them, they are so rude! One seriously knocked me over when I was knelt down helping Kaleiah. They both got a little frightened a few times bc there were like 3 or 4 goats around them at once but the only time Kaden cried is when the giant sheep got too close for comfort. Otherwise, he did great and I was so proud to see how much more brave he gets each time :)

In between feeding and petting the animals they had a fun little play area. Then they also rode the train! They.love.trains.

They also had adorable farm decor that got me itching to do a photo shoot there (not for us, but for me to shoot a client there)! My fav was the country blue barn. What an awesome back drop that would make.

She seriously is such a ham. Randy pointed the camera at us and this is what she did, totally on her own!

Soon it was lunch time for our little bunnies so it was time to go but we will definetly be back! It was so much fun!

YAY! Kaden did so good! Those are adorable pics! And you are soooooo right about that being a great place to shoot some pics! They are both getting to be little such "kids" now! It's fun to watch them experience new things!
