Christmas 2010

This Christmas the twins were a few days away from being 27 months! This year was so different from last Christmas where they were almost 15 months! I thought last year was a blast...this year was even better! They are seriously the funnest age, soooo talkative and really understand so much more.
They were just so incredibly aware this year and it just blows my mind how much a difference one year makes!!!
We are so blessed to be able to spend Christmas with my family in the morning and with my husband's in the evening! What made this an extra special one was my Grandma is here from Iowa! I didn't get to see her very much growing up (once a yr at most) and so this is the 3rd year in a row she has visited. She was here for K&K's very first Christmas (almost 3 mo old) 2 years ago and then she was here last Fall. I think it is just so awesome that she has gotten to see my babies 3 years in a row!
And then as usual, we celebrated a 3rd Christmas with my husbands grandparents, aunts and uncles in LA the day after :) This was such a memorable Christmas and I can't even imagine how much they will change by next year!

His daddy has a pic just like this as a baby :)

Reason 367,497 I love having a daughter

I get to pick out things like these shoes!
How to die for are these mini peep toe flats on this mini lady??

I loooooooooove beyond words, having a son too, but since I am a girl I am naturally drawn to the adorable, frilly, girly-icious things! It's so much fun. (And I love that I have the best of both worlds with getting a son and a daughter at once :) )

On the day we went to he mountains, we also went to a regional park near us that has a Santa train every year. This was our first time and we'll be making it an annual tradition :)

Christmas baking with my babies!

This week was another first and one that I personally had dreamt about in all the years leading up to motherhood. It's also a specific experience that I thought about often when I was in the hospital for 2 months trying to keep he twins in my belly. The circumstances were very grim at first and it was little day dreams like this that kept me hanging on each day!

Kaden and Kaleiah had a total blast helping me decorate our sugar cookies. I even made home made frosting like my mom did when I was little. While it was a total STICKY, messy project, it was absolutely worth it and it was magical. I am a complete hands on Mommy and live in the moment. I (try my hardest to) don't sweat the small stuff. So while it was time consuming and involved a lot of clean up, it was perfect!

Then yesterday we headed over to my parents house (just around the corner which is just awesome) and did some more baking! It's been raining for days here so this was a perfect indoor activity. My 2 nieces helped as well and my Grandma is in town from Iowa so it was neat to have 4 generations there! I grew up, with my siblings, making these Christmas cookies for as long as I can remember. I LOVED decorating with the homemade frosting. It was so neat to see my children keep a tradition going, one that I did when I was little!
