A tradition my parents have always done w/ all 8 of their grandkids (the oldest of which is now almost 19) is to make pizza's! Kaden and Kaleiah have already joined the in tradition and they love it. The other night they even got to make their own little pizza's. So cute :)

Valentines Day fun
I'm not a huge Valentines Day celebrating kind of person, never have been. I will admit that I do love getting a box of chocolates and or a flower from my sweet heart though. Typically, we don't make a big fuss over V-day bc we don't need a Holiday to celebrate or express our love...we do that everyday :) But this year with the kiddies made it really fun! Last year they were only 16 months. This year with them being 28 months, they were a lot more fun :) When they woke up I told them Happy Valentines Day and told them V-Day means LOVE! Kaleiah immediately did the sign for "love" which was so cute :) I told them the day was also about wearing pink, red and hearts hee hee :) While they were napping I decided to make Kaleiah and I a heart hair clip made from some felt scraps I had left over and they turned out pretty cute! I also bought two adorable Valentines owl necklaces that you put together yourself for $1 at Michales like a month ago! I ended up wearing one with Kaleiah bc it just looked too girly on Kaden :( And for their outfits, I just went with clothes they already had bc I just couldn't justify spending money on new clothes just so they could wear pink and red for V-day :) They were cute as buttons anyway :)
Onto what we did to celebrate...there is a place at our fav outdoor mall that I have always wanted to go to and I felt like it was so cute and perfect for Valentines Day. It's called the Sweet Shop and it's where you can make your own cupcakes!!! You pick the cupcake flavor, the frosting and then they have rows and rows of candy and cookies to put on top! It's totally hands on and I knew my cuties would LOVE it! And LOVE it they did! I kept it a surprise til we got there but the whole drive up I was telling them Mommy and Daddy had a surprise for them! Kaden was so cute he kept saying "a treat? a treat Mommy?" When we were walking up to the shop we stopped and I told them what we were doing and the look on their faces was SO CUTE!!!
They had a ball! And I loved every minute of watching them enjoying themselves and helping them! They loved picking out their own candy to put on it and scooping it out themselves. More candy went in their mouth then onto their cupcakes but you gotta go with the flow sometimes :) It was seriously such a great little date the 4 of us had <3
Before we left for the cupcake fun, my adorable husband brought our daughter a rose. I almost cried it was so cute! Her first rose and it was from her Daddy. That's just the way it should be! I love that so much. Then I got a rose from my sweet little Prince in training which also almost brought me to tears from the sheer sweetness! I gushed over it and his little face was indescribable. So proud and I think he felt really special that he made me so excited :) It was priceless. Little moments tucked away in the pocket of my heart :)

Disney
Last week:
After over a year of going, he still gets scared of Goofy!
Yesterday:
Randy had to go change Kaleiah so Kaden and I headed into the park to wait. It was so weird feeling, like I only had one child! It was kind of neat. It makes me excited for when Randy and I will take each of them alone on "dates" :) We tried on hats while we waited for Daddy and Kaleiah :)

normalcy!
The twins are sick with a NASTY cold that I want to punch in the face. Kaleiah started having a runny nose last Saturday, Sunday she was totally stuffed up and her nose was running like a faucet (and all the days following) and by Monday she was a complete, miserable MESS. Did nothing but cry and cough (the cough was HORRIBLE. Non stop and I could tell her throat was so sore from it) all day for the next2 days AND nights straight. Of course she couldn't find comfort in ANYTHING except my arms all.day.long which sure, I love, BUT when you have another 2 yr who needs tending to and to be cared for (not to mention housework, laundry, cooking) it was pretty sucky. She would turn into a sobbing mess if I even tried to set her down which would then make her nose run even more and when I wiped it all the skin around her nose and lip would get even more raw. It was a sad, vicious cycle. And on no sleep... goodness gracious. She of course was sleeping like total crap as well which made her all the more fussy and bad feeling during the day. This went on for 5 days.My sweet husband would stay as late as he could in the mornings and come home an hour earlier just to help. He also took over at night bc he knows am pretty much a miserable human being to be around on no sleep. Sleep equals, rejuvenation and patience for me throughout the day and I love that my husband knows and appreciates that. He on the hand can sleep anywhere, anytime so he prefers to help out at night (and well, bc he's gone all day. That's only fair right?) :)
So, just as things started looking up and settling down for Kaleiah, Kaden got a runny nose and I thought...oh no...here we go again. So based on the above you can gather what the past 3 days with him have been like. It's been ROUGH to say the least. But I think Kaden should be better in another day or 2. Kaleiah still has a cough but is feeling MUCH better. I praise God that it's not worse bc I know it could ALWAYS be worse!
On to the main point of this post, today was the first real days out of the house in 7 days!!! I almost went crazy having to stay stuck inside w/ TWO sick 2 year olds (and so did they). Each day I took them out for 30 in to get some vitamin D via the sunshine and some fresh air!! It made all of us feel a little better. But today was hubby's day off and we decided to go spend as much time as we could outside and get a change of scenery besides out back. Off to our fav outdoor shopping mall. Both seemed to be feeling a little better this morning so we decided to take our chances. They held up GREAT, napped before and after we got there, and only somewhat melted down a few times :) I was so proud of them bc I know when you're sick and feel miserable you just don't have the energy to do anything but they had fun and we could totally tell that being out and about was doing them good! It's amazing what getting dressed and getting some fresh air can do for you (or maybe that's just ME) :) We had delicious chipotle for lunch (we being me and the hubs as the babies have wanted nothing to do with food for 5 days due to their sickness), we went to the pet store and pet cute puppies, we fed some birdies during lunch, we browsed and played in Target and then we rode the carousel! Kaden only smiled 2 times the whole time, once on the ride and once at a cute puppy. It melted my heart, I have missed his smile this week :( Kaleiah was smiling a lot more than she has in the past week too which also warms my heart! Today was so needed and even though it was pretty ordinary it was a sense of normalcy that we've been missing! Hoping and praying health is restored in our little family ASAP!
side note- my lil point and shoot is working again, yay
