D-Land

We haven't been in propbably a month or more and of course today, on a Monday morning, it was beyond crowded! Of course it was the first day of Spring Break for a lot of schools. And of course we forgot our stroller!! But it was actually a super fun morning...it's always fun, no matter what we're doing, when we're together :)

kite flying!

Today I spontaneously had the idea to go fly kites when K&K woke up from naps. It was another first and something we have been looking forward to doing with them!
We bought some cheap kites bc after all, it's about the memories not fancy kites, and headed down to the beach. Though it wasn't windy, there was enough of an ocean breeze to get them to fly! It's hard to even find words to describe their faces and the fun they had. It was PRICELESS. We were all laughing and having a ball. Kaden was sooo good at flying the kite himself!
We ended by spending time playing with seaweed and writing things in the sand while we watched the sun set. It was a perfect, perfect evening :)

"finger paniting"

Something my twins love to do is finger paint. They love the feeling of the cold, slimy paint in their hands and they are even intrigued by the sound it makes when they squeeze their hands together! Every time we finger paint it starts out by them neatly smearing it around on paper, then slowly it ends up on their arms then maybe their tummy or cheeks. But this last time went to a whole new level. They were COVERED in paint by the end. Kaden's face was entirely covered and he was having a ball! I know some mother's would cringe at the thought of letting their child make such a mess, let alone, get covered in pant but my motto as a Mommy has always been to live it to the fullest. So to me, it was pure joy to watch :) Hey, it's washable anyway so what does it hurt? :)
When Kaden first took his hands up to his face and started to wipe the paint from his forehead to his chin, he looked at me and paused, waiting for some sort of signal from me that it was ok :) I smiled and nodded, he grinned from ear to ear and did it. He did this over and over until his face was covered in a rich, plumb purple hue and the way it made his green eyes pop left me speechless. It was so gorgeous looking.
Kaleiah was uncharacteristically reluctant to get messy which was super funny to me. This is the same little girl who need a bath after every single dinner bc of how messy she gets! I loved the way she looked after she smeared the paint down her face, reminds me of an American Indian or as Randy said...a mini Braveheart :) I also love how it accentuated her adorable almond shaped eyes :)
I love the little moments like that, something that starts off so ordinary and becomes something that fills the house with shrieks and laughter. Something that lets them be 2 and be free to experience new things. I love everyday I get to spend teaching and raising them. I live for these days and I LOVE capturing them in photos :)

fresh air

I have a friend, Bonnie, who has always been like a breath of fresh air to me.She is such a refreshing person to be around. She is full of laughter and funny stories and she radiates the Joy of the Lord! Her friendship is soooo special to me. We first met in Feb of 2006 at work and we hit it off the moment we said hi. We have been there through so many important things together and been there for one another with words of encouregment and prayers more times that I can count. She is a true friend, one I am SO blessed to have in my life. The kind of friend you can be totally open and honest with, the friend you can call to pray for you for whatever it may be. The friend that makes you a better person because they are such a great example of Christ's heart. I can only pray that we will stay so close for the many, many years ahead! I have LOVED seeing her in her new role as a Mommy and it is so awesome to now be Mommies together. Words can't say enough about how much I love my friend Bonnie :)

For 2 weeks in a row now we have met up at a place we love (if you read my blog regularly you already know who much we love The Spectrum and how often we go):).
We stroll around in the beautiful weather, shop, eat treats, make wishes in the fountains and today we rode the carousel! Kaden and Kaleiah are no starnger to the carousel but today was sepcial becuase it was Chip's first time! What a fun moment and I was so happy to be a part of it :) I know for me, as a Mommy, first were (and still are) so special and so exciting. I have pretty much all of their firsts documented with pictures :) I was excited to capture Chip's first ride, for Bonnie :) I mean seriously, how cute is the little guy? And Bonnie? She is just so gorgeous...motherhood looks so good on her :)

I LOVE our get together's at the Spec and am blessed to have them. Love you Bonnie!

I gave them pockest full of pennies bc they love making wishes in the fountain :)

Shopping/browsing one of our FAVPORITE stores, Anthropolgie! I need this cookie jar, for sure.

Yeah! Me and Chip!

This picture makes my heart smile!

I just love these pictures!

I just love the beautiful Victorian look of carousels. I would love to do Kaleiah's bedroom like this when she is older. I love the soft blues, the old looking lights and the angels. Love.Love.Love.

My little buddies :)
